Halfway Through 2025

On the mind.
We’re halfway through 2025. Personally, it’s been a pinnacle year for our family. In January, we planned to live in Bend for many, many years and now we are fully committed to living back on Kauai and raising our family here. Moving back to Kauai was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, but I already know for sure that it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. Kauai is home for us, and we’re so much happier here. It’s like something was missing in us (including the kids), and that something was this island / way of life.
More to come in my newsletters on our move back to Hawaii.
From the work side, we’ve also seen some changes so far this year at White Rabbit Group. The goal is to never be stagnant and with that comes growth. It’s one of the attributes of our company’s culture: the growth mindset. Below is a list by department on what we’ve been up to so far this year.
Customer Management. For the first time, we’ve introduced Account Managers as a role. A split from our Project Management team, and we’re already seeing a positive shift in workload balance between managing projects and managing customers.
Services: Engineering, QA, and Design. AI is being integrated across all corners of our company. On the engineering side, it’s making us more efficient and faster. We’ve actually decreased in size as an engineering team this year and are still handling the workload. The integration of AI is really good for our customers. Our hourly rates are not changing, but our team is getting more efficient, which will lower the cost of execution. Since we bill hourly, this cost reduction directly benefits our customers. Quality work, continued problem solving, and AI integration has been, and continues to be, the focus for our service teams.
Sales. Still in transition, our new Account Management team has taken over a lot of the relationship management our sales team handled before. Now, our sales team can focus directly on hunting for new leads and customers.
Marketing. Our Director of Marketing, Jerry Wiant, is building a team with one goal in mind: to grow our presence and revenue. We’ve made some new hires to beef up our marketing team, and I’m excited about what’s to come.
Ops and Recruiting. Our team here is getting better, and the biggest change is the continued autonomy (with little input from me) to operate everything smoothly. They’re slowly continuing to take things off my plate and taking full ownership of running the company.
As we move into the next 6 months, our main focus goals will continue to be revenue growth (not headcount growth) and quality of work.
I feel lucky every single day I log on to my computer and that’s because I truly enjoy working with everyone here at White Rabbit Group. I’m grateful for our team and just want to say thank you to everyone. And a special shoutout the ones who have been with us for multiple years now, with some recent team members hitting their 8-year work anniversary! 🥳
Good culture = Good people.
Weekly moments.

Grammie (my Mom) came to visit for a long 4th of July weekend!

We had an awesome 4th of July with our family and community!

Movie night at the community park!

We’re building garden beds and I had these two to help pick out lumber!

We’re full on Hawaii country folk at this point. 😉 This is our neighbors Polaris but we might be getting our own soon.
