On the mind.

I wanted to share a similar message that I posted on instagram this week. As I write this we’re back on Kauai in our new home but still feeling the emotional release of leaving our Bend home.

I never imagined I’d be writing this update the way I am. After over three years of pouring our hearts and energy into building our dream home in Bend, we’re saying goodbye.

The original plan was to settle in, raise our kids there, and share a post filled with the excitement of move-in day. That day came and went months ago... and we never really shared anything. I think we did this because deep down maybe we knew it wasn’t the one. Today I can’t even really describe why we didn’t feel proud or want to share it.

During the build, we temporarily moved to Kauai and something changed in us forever. We connected with the island, the culture, the community, the ocean, and the Aloha way of life. This way of life is unmatched in our opinion.

And now, after a lot of reflection, we’ve decided to follow a strong feeling pulling us back to Kauai. It’s the right decision for our family and Kauai feels like home.

We’re so excited for this next chapter. At the same time, we’ll miss our Bend crew more than words can describe. That part is really hard. But this move is meant to be and we’re grateful for that.

So we said goodbye to our beautiful Bend home even before it was 100% finished!
