An Internal Memo on The Future of Web Development

On the mind.
Below is an internal memo I released to our team and thought it was relevant to share with my newsletter followers. It’s a time of change and we all must adapt.
This memo is a call to attention for everyone at White Rabbit Group. It’s about the impact of AI assistants and where we see the future of web development heading. We are entering a major transition unlike anything I’ve seen since founding this company, and the speed of change right now is exponential.
We are no longer just web engineers, developers, or designers.
We are now AI-Assisted Engineers, AI-Assisted Developers, and AI-Assisted Designers. As a company, all of our services now carry the appendix of AI-Assisted.
I use ChatGPT every single day for a wide range of tasks. It’s already changing how I work, and it’s going to reshape how we all work.
Truth is, this memo is late. As a company, we’re already behind but we’re all moving quickly to catch up and stay relevant in this next era of web development.
Adaptation is essential for survival. For example, I believe that in the next two years, developers who effectively use AI tools will be able to produce 2–3 times more output than those currently writing code without them. Small, AI-augmented teams will outperform larger traditional teams in speed and efficiency. AI will touch every layer, from writing code to shaping the web applications we build on top of it.
It means our potential is greater than ever. It’s a new way to write code, find bugs, do user testing, and more. Look at it as an enhancement to how you already work. For many years to come, there will still be countless companies that rely on the services we provide at White Rabbit Group.
We’re embracing this shift with open arms to stay efficient, competitive, and world-class for our clients.
As engineers, designers, managers, and all ops roles—we must adapt and be problem solvers. If we don’t, we fall behind.
