Happy Valentine’s Day! I looked it up, and if I continue releasing these newsletters indefinitely every week, the next time it lands on Valentine’s Day is Friday, February 14th, 2031. So I figured here’s my shot to go all-in on V Day!

First, I have to tell you about my valentine! My wife Kristin is the other half making our life happen. It’s definitely taken two to create the life we have and I am grateful every day (even if I don’t say it every day) that she is mine. She’s my queen, an amazing mom, she’s strong, beautiful, perfect for me and I love our family so much.

We have a tradition that we started since our first Valentines day. The tradition is to stay home and together cook a home made meal from scratch (as much as possible). Over the years we’ve made pasta, steak dinners, many side dishes, seafood, spam masubi, tonkotsu ramen, sushi rolls, etc. The point is to be together, inside our home and cook a quality meal.

We may break the tradition one day but so far we have not missed a year yet and this year we’re making sushi rolls (for the second time on V Day) and miso soup from scratch.
