ChatGPT Is The Way
On the mind.
I'm using ChatGPT daily at this point and if you're not, you're way behind! Even as I write this, talking about ChatGPT feels like old news, but at the same time, it’s not. ChatGPT, machine learning, and true AI are still in their infancy. One day, they’ll take over nearly everything, with all systems running on top of big data and language models.
As the CEO of a company with nearly 100 people, here’s how I use ChatGPT:
Legal Contract Review & Clause Creation – Every contract that comes across my desk goes through ChatGPT first. I feed it the full agreement, and it generates an overview, highlights key terms, and flags potential risks. This speeds up my initial review and helps me catch anything that might need deeper attention. I also use it to create and refine contract clauses. ChatGPT is my go-to for a first-pass legal review! Keep in mind, I’ve been in business for many years, so my experience helps with this. Example: I input a full contract and prompt it with: “Can you review this contract, give me an overview, and highlight any potential risks?”
Writing & Editing – Writing is a big part of my day—whether it’s emails, internal docs, or newsletters. After drafting something, I have a go-to prompt to keep my writing clean without losing my natural tone. I also use ChatGPT for structuring thoughts, reworking sentences for clarity, and refining longer pieces. Example: I might draft an email or post, and my go-to prompt for editing my writing is: “Keep the same voice but fix minor grammar?”
Business Strategy – ChatGPT is my new business partner. It is great for refining ideas, structuring strategies, and getting a fresh perspective. The key is that it’s not just an idea generator—it helps bring structure to abstract concepts and strategies. Example: A recent prompt I used: "What are the key components of a strong B2B go-to-market strategy?"
Basic Knowledge Research / Validation – I use ChatGPT as a starting point for research, whether it’s breaking down complex topics or validating information. While it's not always perfect for deep research and I’ve hit roadblocks, it continues to improve. I also use it to verify calculations and check for accuracy in various contexts. Example: Nearly all my research for any topic starts in ChatGPT. I use it frequently for work, but here’s a non-work example: "What are the health benefits of cold plunging?"
Creative Fun – Beyond work, I use ChatGPT for fun, especially with our kids. We generate unique images to print out, create stories, or brainstorm ideas together. At work, I use it to create fun memes. Example: At Thanksgiving, I prompted ChatGPT to do the following, and it outputted a perfect story to read: “Write a bedtime story that I can read to my kids about why we celebrate Thanksgiving. Make it fun, engaging, and for a 5-year-old audience.”
I thought it would be fun to share how I use ChatGPT now that it’s become a daily tool. I’ve recently even used it to help plan and organize a trip to France and Italy!
Another big use case for us as a company is AI-Assisted Development. No developer in the world should be working without AI assistants. It’s too powerful and saves countless hours. We’re no longer in the world of Web Development as a Service—it’s now AI-Assisted Web Development as a Service. Nearly everything will have an "AI-Assisted" tag attached to it in the future.
So far, ChatGPT has saved me countless hours of research, editing, and more. It’s also saved me thousands of dollars in external consulting fees, like legal. Hopefully, our legal team hasn’t signed up for my newsletter and is reading this. If so, I still have love for ya and will keep using you for many things!
I want to know, what are you using and prompting into ChatGPT?
PS: I write all of my newsletters from scratch and only use ChatGPT for minor grammar edits but I used ChatGPT more than normal for this newsletter!
