The Weekly No. 17

I'm Not Who I Once Was

On the mind.

I’m not who I once was. Yet, I am still the same mind that has experienced it all. I’ve always been… me.

This is something I wrote recently, a reflection of the journey I’ve taken. I’ve fought hard to get to where I am today, pushing through not the best versions of who I used to be.

Your past does not dictate your future. The people of your past, whether those you chose (friends) or those you didn’t (family), should not define who you are today. At the same time, your old self is still a part of you. People may think I’m different, but that’s not the full truth. I simply keep growing and embrace that mindset.

Too many people follow an unhappy path that was laid out for them.

I want to remind you that you can keep growing. Keep experimenting. It’s okay to bend the rules. It’s okay to ignore expectations and just be you. Stop comparing yourself to others. Keep setting dream goals and keep knocking them down.

Don’t stop. Find the fire that fuels you, and always stay authentically you.

I hope this resonates with at least one person reading this.
